The USP of this mighty SUV is that Skoda Yeti is available in diesel option only. The 2.0 L 1968 cc in-line, liquid cooled with high-pressure direct injection system and 16 V DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) is coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox while the former was a 6-speeder. It might look that power has stepped down in the 4x2 version of Yeti, however, Skoda has another luring point for customers and that is mileage. Skoda Yeti 4x2 comes with enhanced mileage of 17.72 kmpl as compared to 17.67 kmpl offered by the 4x4 version. This is a remarkable achievement in a mileage specific country like India.
The dimensions of the new entrant are almost same except that the 4x2 version have shed some kerb weight. Skoda Yeti Active and Skoda Yeti Ambition (both 2-wheel drive model) measures 1445 kg while the 4x4 Yeti is heavier measuring 1543 kg. The Skoda Yeti 4x2 is a perfect choice as a family car, who wishes to own an SUV over a premium segment hatchback or a sedate sedan.

On the other hand, the newly launched Skoda Yeti 4x2 version is dependent on a 2.0L, TDI CR, 1968 cc diesel engine that churns out 110 bhp of power at 4200 rpm and 250 Nm of maximum torque at 1500-2500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and the power is essentially transmitted to the front wheels of Yeti. Clearly, this engine is less powerful than the four-wheel.

The Skoda Yeti is a stylish compact premium SUV model that offers distinct sporty look. The secret of its distinct design lies in the combination of a robust appearance with functional details. The front fascia of the Skoda Yeti is dominated by its aggressive front chrome radiator grille which is surrounded bysporty headlamps and extra large fog lamps which are provided with corner function in the high-end variant. Few other elements at the front of the car lend Skoda Yeti an original and striking expression and an extra touch of finishing to the car. The halogen headlamps sweep towards the sides of the front part of the body. Alongside the headlamps, there are round lamps located with integrated daytime running lights. The first SUV from Skoda, Skoda Yeti has been decorated with chrome bumper brush guard wherein all the slats come in black color. The front of the car looks even more ravishing with the logo of Skoda embossed on the bonnet.
The rear view mirrors and door handles are wrapped in body color; the ORVMs have turn indicator mounted on it. The same 2.0 litre 4 cylinder diesel engine now makes for 110 bhp of maximum power at 4200 rpm and belts out 250 Nm of maximum torque at 1500-2500 rpm. This less powerful engine is mated to a 5 speed fully synchronized manual transmission where power is supplied to the front wheels.
The fuel tank capacity is different for the two variants. The two wheel drive Yeti has 55 litre tank and the four wheel drive version Yeti has a bigger fuel tank in which 60 liter of diesel can be stuffed. However, the 4x2 Skoda Yeti offers better mileage than 4x4.

The Skoda Yeti is assembled with 16 inch alloy wheels; the wheels and tyre sizes are 7.0J X 16 inch and 215/60 R 16, respectively. While the Active and Ambition trims are offered in Moon shape alloy wheels, the top-end Elegance variant comes fitted with Nevis alloy wheels also used in Jaguar cars. Look and Style- Absolutely Dazzling from infront. Its awesome at the back its pretty flat. Comfort- Damn comfortable from inside. Back seats have space for keeping your leg over knee also that much. Skoda India has been quite successful in India with most of the current vehicles in its stables. However the black sheep in Skoda’s stables has always been the Yeti. While the Yeti has immense popularity in the international market, particularly Europe, where it was recently given the title of most reliable car in the UK by consumer brand Which? However the case is quite the opposite in India, where the car is amongst the least popular from the Skoda stables.

Respected consumer brand Which? has revealed the Skoda Yeti is the most reliable car in the UK. In a survey completed by owners of 47,000 vehicles, the petrol-powered model ranked number one in the SUV/4x4 classes with a 98% reliability score. As that was the highest total of any class winner it was declared the overall champion. The Skoda Yeti diesel took sixth spot.
